El Paso Prepares for Harvey Evacuees

28 08 2017

Hello VOAD Members and Friends:

The City of El Paso has initiated preparedness efforts to possibly receive up to 1500 evacuees from areas affected by Hurricane Harvey. The American Red Cross and Salvation Army have the lead in coordinating shelter space and logistics for the evacuees. El Paso VOAD agencies may be called upon to provide support. We are requesting that you consider what resources you have available and ensure that emergency contact information for your leadership and volunteers is current. We will put out requests for assistance directly to the VOAD distribution list. Please contact VOAD at info@elpasovoad.org if you have any questions or updates.

Thank You.
Xavier Banales, VOAD Chairperson
